Infinix Takes on Collaborators to Push Mobile Gaming Tech Forward

Infinix Mobile, parented by Transsion Holdings, came into the spotlight in 2013. And for a business that is headquartered in China, this smartphone company has gone fully global. Although it initially started out as a utility device for efficiency, the manufacturers are gradually tilting towards the gaming sector.

From a business perspective, it isn’t enough for developers and manufacturers to produce phones with gaming specifications. We’ve seen many smartphone companies doing this; soon enough, they burn out. What they are not factoring in is the business angle—partnerships and collaborations with the right people. And this is what Infinix is doing right. Let’s look deeper into their recent moves to expand their mobile gaming reach.

Mobile Gaming Evolution

Mobile gaming did not start out as the highly entertaining and lucrative venture that it is today. It only started to gain traction with the release of Snake back in 1997 on the Nokia 6610. Since then, the industry has evolved greatly. With the innovation of Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and Bluetooth technology, the standards increased, enabling simple multiplayer board games like Connect 4 and tic-tac-toe.

Not to bore you with the long history, but the point is that mobile gaming has come a long way. Comparing what we have today to where it came from, one can only marvel at the growth. Today, we have games like Call of Duty Mobile that support up to 60 FPS with smooth and responsive feedback.

Amidst all this growth and evolution, the games are not the only thing that got better—the phones also did. And people don’t appreciate this enough. If you try to run new games on a 2015 Infinix phone, it won’t work—you probably won’t be able to even install it. When you consider this, you start to appreciate the improvements Infinix has made to their devices.

Here are some of the areas that have brought about visible improvements

  • Advanced Chipsets: Infinix is making advancements to its chipsets at a very surprising rate. Take the Infinix GT 20 Pro, for example, it features a Mediatek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chipset that is only 4 nanometers. The CPU is octa-core, and with such an advanced chipset, you can play games seamlessly at up to 120 FPS.
  • GPUs: Infinix phones’ Graphic Processing Units (GPUs) have advanced to match the best in the market. Now, we have the Mali-G610 MC6 in the GT 20 Pro, ensuring the most seamless gaming experience.
  • Better Screen Resolution: It doesn’t matter how advanced a phone’s chipset is, if the screen resolution is poor, it won’t perform well for gaming. Infinix understands this, and with every release, they level up their resolution, hitting higher milestones as they progress. Now, they have phones capable of 1080 x 2436 pixels—a pure gaming masterpiece. This, in turn, brings about better refresh rates, adding up to 144Hz refresh rates.

Enhancing Mobile Browser Gaming

With these improvements, we are bound to see improvements in mobile browser gaming. In extension, the iGaming sector benefits greatly from this, since most of them are mobile games running within the confines of browsers.

Thanks to technology like HTML5 and devices that can handle such power and speed, even online casinos have smartphone manufacturers to thank. All players have to do now is head to a website like CasinoSherlock to find the latest games and websites they can play them on. There is no need to worry about whether or not their device is compatible.

In the near future, we predict the integration of these mobile browser games with more recent technology like VR and AR. While it is already in the development phase, we strongly believe that we are yet to see the best of it.

The Power of Collaboration—Partnership With the Likes of MediaTek and Honor of Kings

Frankly speaking, it isn’t enough to only develop super gaming smartphones without forging the right partnerships. That is how some companies set themselves up for failure. This is why top manufacturers like Infinix regularly partner with different software developers, accessory makers, and even games studios.

Recently, we saw Infinix officially announce its partnership with MediaTek, one of the industry-leading chip manufacturers. For those who are not familiar with MediaTek, they are one of the industry-leading semiconductor companies—responsible for up to 1.5 billion devices per year. Their core processors feature inputs like octa-core, deca-core, and even hex-core.

To cut a long story short, MediaTek is a very big company when you weigh them on a global scale. So, for Infinix to pull off a strong collaboration with them, you can imagine how big a deal this is. Their focus is optimizing and improving mobile gaming performance as often as possible.

Then, to add to the collaborations, Infinix also put pen to paper with Honor of Kings from TiMi Studio Group. Honor of Kings is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game that was released in 2015. This game has made a name for itself in recent years and is one of the most-played mobile games.

With a partnership with Infinix, we are about to see exclusive features for players who use their devices to play the game. In addition, we also stand to see events and power ups that take inspiration from Infinix as a collaborator.

Such collaborations are perfect for the company at large because they give them further access to the manufacturers’ testing labs. That way, they can actually optimize the games and chips for Infinixspecifically, and in extension, reduce the hardware limitations of every new device release.

Infinix and Gaming Accessibility

From the onset, the manufacturer’s plan is to create a platform through which gamers can enjoy the latest gaming titles seamlessly. The plan is to make sure that high-quality gaming is accessible, and most importantly, available at an affordable price.

Looking at Infinix in comparison with competitors, they offer high gaming specifications that match everybody, but at a more pocket-friendly cost. In doing so, they also don’t compromise on other features at the expense of being “budget friendly”. That, in itself, is the strongest point of Infinix.

Sponsorships and Collaborations Beyond the Conventional Space

Beyond the partnerships and collaborations, Infinix takes part in special events by sponsoring them—very large and reputable events. For instance, we saw their input in the 2024 PUBG Mobile World Cup (PMWC), which concluded with more media backing than it had at the beginning.

As expected, Infinix did not shy away from commenting on how proud they are of the success of the event. The General Manager, Tony Zhao, said, “As the official gaming smartphone partner of PMWC, Infinix has brought new energy to this year’s event with our cutting-edge technology and immersive gameplay experiences. Our dedicated support and active involvement have significantly elevated the experience for both players and fans, showcasing Infinix’s leadership in the esports industry.”

Conclusion

Without a doubt, Infinix is moving in the right direction, and the gaming community is very appreciative of this. Through the right collaborations, these manufacturers have forged the right partnerships, making sure gamers get the best from them. Aside from improved chipsets, it has also brought about better software optimizations, battery life improvements, and even the optimal functioning of the cooling systems. This shows how much they have the interest of gamers in mind, and going forward, we look forward to seeing how everything unfolds.
